You can make thousands of dollars, but you can't do the best fundraiser using "Small" Mascots in a traditional way. "Small" School Mascots are a special item and you need to know who your prospect is.
When you use Mascots as your product, and want to make thousands of dollars, you need to know how Mascots will do that for you. Some schools already have a school-wide program, using "Small" Mascots as Awards, Gifts, Keepsakes, and in other ways that build enthusiasm. You want to capitalize on that program.
If you use these programs as a springboard, or if your school has not started this program yet, you should use the "Small" Mascot for fundraising in a big way. Check out the ideas on this website to find the various ways "Small" Mascots can be used to boost school spirit and raise 1,000's of dollars.
The "Small" Mascot is not a product you can use like Cookie Dough. The parents are not encouraged to pay an enormous price for them, and then stack them in the refrigerator.
Parents are not a prospect, in the same way they buy wrapping paper, because these Mascots are not to decorate the closet. It is not like a candy bar that you can buy for less money at any super market.
Small Mascots are a specialized product, designed and manufactured for students who attend K-12 Schools. Students are your prospects in fundraising, but they are not necessarily the ones that purchase them. The Parents have a real reason to purchase the "Small" Mascot for the student..
You can use them as an Award for a student that has achieved a special level in any school project. It may be an attendance award, or a reading award, or an award for graduating from one class to another. It may even be an award for becoming a member of the honor roll society.
It may be a Keepsake, or memento to celebrate a special event like homecoming, or a student's birthday, or any special event in school.
It may be a "Grade Mascot" to celebrate the year the student was in a particular grade in school, or a "Class Mascot" to celebrate the year the student will graduate.
It may be anything from a "Back to School Gift," when the student first enters school, to a "Graduation Gift" at the completion of the twelfth grade. But if you want to have a good fundraiser, it must fit into the school program, and you must target the right prospect to raise your funds.
There are, at least, three basic approaches you can use, and make thousands of dollars.
First, you can get the school to support the program. Talk to the Principal and sell him or her on the idea, then see if the ISD will support the program. If you can use tax dollars from the school district, that is great.
We pay our taxes to support the school, and this is a great Spirit Booster, but budgets have been cut and schools are hurting for money to pay for regular programs. They need help and youi are in a position to give that help!
Give the parents, and grandparents, a reason to support the school through additional contributions. They can support the school by supporting your fundraiser through the purchase of a Mascot with is the logo for your school. Your fundraiser is "school centered" and asking for "contributions" to make your school better.
Second, you can get a merchant in town to support the project by buying the Mascots and receiving advertising, and business traffic, and popularity, in return. The same merchant may want to do this each year, or you may want to get a different merchant each year so you can spread the opportunity around.
The businesses in town spend thousands of dollars on advertising, and what better way to advertise than get hand in hand with the school? Business men are smart to support the school and it's prograsms, and they know it.
Third, you may want to go directly to the parents and grandparents. The family will desire to buy and give each student the awards, gifts, or keepsakes if given the opportunity. You are a friend offering a great gift or award, and they will support you.
The way to finance this program is limited only by your imagination, but to make thousands of dollars. and revolutionize your fundraiser you need the support of everyone. Check out the Mascot Program to see how the program works in your schools.
