“What products do you use to have a great fundraiser?”
-
-
"What do you give as an award when a student makes a great accomplishment?”
-
“How do you celebrate when a student moves up from one grade to another?”
These are important questions and we want to design a product that is a solution. That "need for a solution" is the beginning of “About Us.”
For Us , We Wanted To Do More Than Raise Money,
We Wanted To Boost School Spirit!
My wife and I had been elected to have a fundraiser in our school, and that itched a bit. In fact it itched a whole lot, and we needed to scratch it.
We had no idea what product we would use to create the excitement and enthusiasm but we wanted to raise the funds expected by our school, and by our group. But we wanted to do more!
We had used cookie dough until the refrigerators’ were full to the brim. We had used wrapping paper until the closets were full to overflowing. We wanted something that would get the students excited. We wanted the school to turn upside down with enthusiasm. The “itch for a new idea” was powerful, and it made us scratch.
Ask yourself a question.
"What can I use to generate excitement, enthusiasm and School Spirit?"
That was the question my wife and I were asking ourselves when we were given the responsibility to manage the school fundraiser. We had sponsored fundraisers before, but this time we wanted the students to get excited, too. We wanted to Fire up School Spirit and make it something big.
We had used cookie dough until everyone had more than they needed. We had used wrapping paper until everything was wrapped up, and we knew candy bars could be purchased at any grocery store. You name it and we've tried it.
This time we wanted something new, something so dynamic that it would set the students on fire with enthusiasm, turn the school upside down with excitement, and make us the money we needed for our project.
We found the answer in the place we least expected.
One day walking through a toy store we saw a small plush cardinal. It was a plush bird, about 5 inches tall. We got excited because the Cardinal is our School Mascot, and our colors are red and black, This one looked real good! We looked at each other and our brains began to turn over like a buzz saw.
Almost simultaneously a light went on in our heads, and a new idea was born.
How would our students react to a Small Plush Mascot? Would it spark a surge of School Spirit, or would it fall flat?
We carried the small plush Cardinal around as we walked through the store. We passed if back and forth between us. We talked about it, and thought a lot about what we could do with it. It's amazing that such a small plush bird could get us so excited.
We had never thought about it before, but now our school spirit was feeling like an oil gusher about to burst through the surface. Our hearts were beating like a drum. This little plush bird was our school mascot and we knew the students would love it!
When school started we had a table just down the hall from those who were selling school supplies. When the students saw the small plush Cardinal Mascots, they went into a frenzy. The mommas were interested in buying school supplies; the students were interested in buying a School Mascot.
We learned a lot that day. We sold about half the Mascots we had, and before school had been open for two weeks we sold all our mascots.
We Discovered A Secret Million Dollar Jackpot
We put on our "marketing hats" to do a little research! What we found was
a secret Billion Dollar Jackpot! The year before we made this discovery, Tony the Tiger, Mickey Mouse, and the Energizer Bunny, made BILLIONS of dollars for the companies they represent. It made us wonder if we could do the same thing in our school! Maybe not a billion dollars, but a few thousand would do.
Would these Small School Mascots boost School Spirit? Would they build enthusiasm among the students? Would they raise the money we needed?
For decades mascots have served as strong persuasive voices for large corporations, all across America. Would they do the same thing for a K-12 Elementary School? We thought we would give it a try.
That's the reason Small School Mascots are available today. They are not only for fundraising, but for every school activity. Gifts, Awards, Keepsakes, and every special event! That's the reason they give their persuasive voice to K-12 Schools, and it does make a BIG difference.
You and I grew up with Mascots that blew us away with their magic. They helped us make memories in our school years that we'll never forget. Now the Mascot is back -- and not just for big companies, -- but there is a Small Mascot for every K-12 School.
Thirteen years ago, right after we discovered how exciting Small School Mascots were to the students, we cranked up K-12 Mascots, and Started a "Small" School Mascot Company.
Last year thousands of schools used "Small" School Mascots to build school spirit, create pride, fire-up enthusiasm, and make thousands of dollars to spend! You can do the same thing this year!
You can do it individually, or as a group. There is absolutely no product that will make a better award, or be a more exciting gift, or create enthusiasm, or be a keepsake for a special event, as much as a "Small" School Mascot.
And now we are introducing the Polyresin Mascot Figurine. Only 5 inches tall, handcrafted as your school mascot, dressed in your school colors, with personalization for any special event.
They make dynamic gifts for Graduation, or for Move Up Awards for the students in Elementary and Middle School that graduate from one grade to aother.
They make great "Grade Mascots" for each grade in Elementary or middle school personalized with the Grade the students are in that year. High School Students personalize them with the year of anticipated graduation. They call them "Class Mascots." It's a great introduction to High School!
